In the ever-evolving corporate world, internal training is not only crucial but can no longer be underestimated. It is closely tied to professional growth. People are the lifeblood of any organization and are essential for ensuring the long-term success of the company. Moreover, providing training allows employees not only to acquire new skills and knowledge but also to enhance existing ones. A well-structured training program can increase productivity, stimulate innovation, and improve job satisfaction.

Additionally, investing in the professional growth of one's employees demonstrates a tangible commitment to their well-being and development, helping to foster a positive organizational climate and a sense of trust and loyalty towards the company.

The Specialtrasfo Training Paths

In this regard, Specialtrasfo continues to keep pace with the latest industry trends, quickly adapting to market changes to meet its quality standards. This approach is particularly important in an era where innovation and technology are advancing at a rapid pace.

Among the first training activities completed in the first two months of 2024 with enthusiasm and participation, we want to mention the PLE update, GDPR and DPI 3rd courses (for working at heights), and those dedicated to project management, time management, and team building, totaling 70 hours. 40 of our employees have benefited from these training sessions.

Considering corporate training solely as a cost is the biggest mistake a company can make. It's essential to shift the mindset and view these sessions not only as a strategic investment in the company's future but also (and especially) in the well-being of its internal resources. This approach will soon yield tangible benefits and long-lasting competitive advantages that can make the difference between success and failure.

In a view of constant evolution and expansion of conformity duties of corporate compliance, Specialtrasfo has recently adopted the Organisational Model 231 within its corporate business. The purpose of Legislative Decree 231/2001, which regulates the criminal liability of companies and entities, is to prevent and repress the commission of various crimes by subjects linked by a functional/organic relationship with the institution, such as directors, employees, suppliers.

Model 231 is an organisation, management and control model, both in its realisation phase and in the subsequent implementation phase, and it’s configured as a complement to the other management systems present in the corporate organisation through specific procedures for monitoring sensitive internal areas, in particular a Supervisory Board and a Code of Ethics.

Of fundamental importance is the role of the independent Supervisory Body (SB), which has the task of supervising the operation and the observance of Model 231 adopted by the institution and ensure its continuous updating. The company provided employees a 'whistleblowing' system to make anonymous reports to the SB on relevant unlawful conduct and violations of the precepts established by the Model.

The energy consumption of a productive industry is necessarily significant: if the first objective is to minimise the need for energy, optimizing processes and eliminating waste, on the other hand the priority is to aim more and more firmly towards renewable sources of supply. It is precisely in this direction that the investments put in place by Specialtrasfo in recent years: a commitment that has allowed us to meet almost all of our energy needs thanks to solar and that, by the end of this year, will allow us to produce much more energy than our production plant needs, as part of a philosophy based on the achievement of a Carbon Negative production.

As September 2022, the production plant could count on a nominal installed capacity of 66 kW for an annual production of about 85 thousand kWh: considering the average consumption of the Agrate site, except for the power needed to test the produced transformers, which is about 150 thousand kWh, with the plants in operation we were able to cover 57% of our annual needs thanks to solar energy. The goodness of the decision to provide us with a modern and efficient solar system has encouraged us to accelerate on this road, so much so that in the following months the nominal installed power was 100 kW, for an annual production of 126 thousand kWh, 84% of our energy needs.

A trend we have no intention to stop; not only we decided to reach the total coverage of the company’s annual energy consumption, but we will go further.  Specialtrasfo has allocated the funds and organized the works so that by the end of 2023 the nominal installed base has doubled, which will increase from 100 to 200 kW and will allow us to cover about 160% of our needs: in this way we can both contribute to the production of an increasing share of clean energy and support industrial expansion over time.
For Specialtrasfo the environmental issue is a priority which is shown not only by the measures taken, such as the implementation of a high-level solar system, but also by the invitation to the ABB Energy Efficiency Supplier Symposium organized by the Energy Efficiency Movement, of which we have already talked in a dedicated article. The goal of the meeting was to find practical ways to plan the energy future and to put more and more into practice all those technologies that are already available today to make a difference. Well, we believe in it, and this is one of the many demonstrations.
